New Delhi: A shocking discovery inside a house in Bengaluru has raised several questions after the skeleton of a 52-year-old woman was found nearly a year after her suspected death. Police officials said the woman had been living alone at her residence in Havanur Layout, located in the Bagalagunte area of the city.
The deceased has been identified as Dakshayini. According to police, she may have died around a year ago, but the matter came to light only after her skeletal remains were discovered inside the duplex house.

Police officials said Dakshayini had been dealing with severe emotional distress after the deaths of her husband and son.
Her husband, Umesh, reportedly passed away around 10 years ago, while her son later died due to cancer. Investigators suspect that these personal losses may have affected her mental health significantly.
Officials said Dakshayini also had a daughter, but due to family differences, she and her husband did not visit the house. Police said the daughter informed them that Dakshayini had even changed her mobile number.
The discovery has raised questions about how the woman’s death remained unnoticed for such a long period. Police have started investigating all possible angles to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the spot, and further details are expected after examination of the collected samples.
Authorities are also looking into the woman’s personal background, family connections and other circumstances that could help explain what happened inside the house.

Officials said the final cause and timeline of death will become clearer after forensic analysis. The police have not ruled out any possibility and are continuing their investigation. The incident has shocked residents in the area, as the woman’s remains were discovered inside the same house where she had been living alone.
A similar case was reported in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur, where a skeleton was found buried near a drain in the Shantinagar area. Police had recovered the remains and launched an investigation to establish the identity of the deceased. Forensic examination was initiated to determine details about the person and the circumstances of death.
The Bengaluru case is now under investigation, with police focusing on forensic evidence and background details to uncover the truth behind Dakshayini’s mysterious death.
