Lucknow: The noose is continuously tightening on Jamaluddin, alias Changur Baba, who was arrested by Uttar Pradesh ATS. He has serious allegations of terror funding and money laundering through illegal conversion. According to the information received by the Dynamite News correspondent, now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will also investigate this entire matter.
Suspicion of illegal earnings of more than 100 crores
ATS has found evidence of illegal funding of more than Rs 100 crore in the investigation. It is suspected that this money was not only invested in conversion, but it may also have been used in terrorist funding. This is the reason why now ED is preparing to take action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Started the journey by selling rings, now became Peer Baba
Changur, a resident of Rehramafi village of Balrampur, used to sell rings and gems earlier. Then he won the Panchayat elections in 2015 and gradually increased his political power. After this, he started plotting conversion and started preparing to promote his son Mehboob in politics.
Keypad mobile, but fond of luxury cars
Baba Changur may have had a keypad mobile, but he had a fleet of luxury cars. His partner used to arrange for new cars, and Neetu was always with him. Changur's luxurious mansion was built in Madhpur of Uttaraula, and he was also getting a new house built in the village.
Gang members visited Islamic countries 40 times
According to the ATS report, Changur and his gang members have visited Islamic countries more than 40 times. More than 40 bank accounts, many suspicious transactions, and a network across the country have been revealed.
Penetration in Islamic organizations under the guise of religious conversion
Changur Baba had joined the Islamic network of Nagpur and declared himself a Sufi and Pir Baba. He had his eyes on a major shrine in Uttaraula, which he wanted to capture. For this, he also developed relations with Muslim religious gurus.
He used to give people rings and 'predict' them
Chhangur used to influence people by giving them rings for conversion. He used to claim that this would lead to promotion in a job and happiness and prosperity. With his simple attire and cleverness, he used to confuse even the officers.
Arrested after two months of surveillance
After the FIR was registered in September 2024, the ATS intensified the investigation. After the arrest of the son and associate on April 8, Changur and Neetu were arrested on July 5. Now the NIA will also interrogate in the case and is investigating the network on the Nepal border.
