Meerut: Major developments unfolded in the high-profile Kapsad abduction-murder case on Saturday night and Sunday. The main accused, Paras Som, and the abducted girl, Ruby, underwent medical examinations at the district hospital. This medical procedure was carried out as a mandatory step before their court appearance to ensure there are no gaps in the subsequent legal process.
Paras Som, under police custody, was brought to the district hospital under tight security, where a team of doctors conducted his medical examination. Ruby was also examined separately. Sources said that during the medical check-up, doctors assessed Ruby’s physical and mental condition. The medical report is considered crucial as it will be submitted as evidence in court.

On Thursday morning, Sunita Devi and her daughter Ruby were heading to the fields near Rajbahe’s track in Kapsad village, Sardhana police jurisdiction. Accused Paras Som and his accomplices attempted to abduct Ruby. Sunita tried to resist, and the attackers struck her with a sickle, leaving her critically injured. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Ruby was abducted and taken away.
