Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Was Siya already married to lover Chetan? WhatsApp chats reveal ‘secret wedding’

Pune: The investigation into the alleged murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken a fresh turn after police reportedly uncovered WhatsApp chats suggesting that prime accused Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, had secretly married months before the crime.

According to media reports citing investigators, the alleged secret marriage came to light during an examination of digital evidence recovered from the accused persons' mobile phones.

Police are analysing call records, location data, WhatsApp conversations and internet search history spanning the past several months as part of the investigation.

Investigators reportedly found chats indicating that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had allegedly married around four months before Ketan Agarwal's death while keeping the relationship hidden from their families.

Police are yet to officially confirm the alleged marriage, and the findings remain part of the ongoing investigation.

Murder conspiracy under probe

Officials suspect the alleged conspiracy to kill Ketan Agarwal was planned after the purported secret marriage. According to the investigation, Ketan was allegedly pushed off Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18. Police have arrested Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the case.

Investigators have also claimed that an earlier attempt to kill Ketan was allegedly made on June 14 but did not succeed.

Messages allegedly reveal murder plan

Police claim that after the alleged failed attempt, Siya sent a WhatsApp message to Chetan stating that she did not have the courage to carry out the act alone and asked him to join her.

Investigators allege that the two later executed the plan together on June 18 by pushing Ketan off the fort.

Police are continuing to examine electronic evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to Ketan Agarwal's death. The allegations regarding the alleged secret marriage and WhatsApp chats have not yet been tested in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
