Imphal: Four militants were nabbed in Manipur in separate incidents during the last 24 hours.
Police said security forces arrested a militant from Khonghampat Mantri Leikai under Sekmai-PS, Imphal West District.
Two militants from Leirongthel Pitra and one from Yairipok Bishnunaha were arrested by security forces in Thoubal District.
Another Operation
In another operation police recovered one each of a 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, an M-16 rifle with a magazine, a single-barrel rifle (country-made), three Pompi and other materials from Torbung village, Teijang village and adjoining forest areas under Churachandpur-PS, Churachandpur District.
Earlier Incidents
Security forces nabbed four militants belonging to four different outfits in four separate operations during the last 24 hours.
Police said security forces arrested a militant from Leirongthel Pitra under Nongpok Sekmai-PS, Thoubal District with pistol.
In another incident a militant was nabbed from Khabeisoi near 7 MR Gate under Heingang-PS, Imphal East District.
The arrested person is directly involved in recruiting new cadres to their organisation, police added.
A militant was nabbed from Khumbong Bazar under Patsoi-PS, Imphal West District and another militant was nabbed from Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leirak under Thoubal-PS, Thoubal District.
Police said in a search operation SMG Carbine with an empty magazine, modified CMG with one empty magazine, DBBL Gun, 9 mm Pistol and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the foothill of Kumbi Setupur under Kumbi PS, Bishnupur District.
Yet Another Operation
In another operation, one each of the Double Barrel 12 Bore Rifle, Single Barrel 12 Bore Rifle (country made), and other items from Monghlam and its adjoining foothills under Thoubal Dam-PS, Imphal East District
Second week of May five people, including three militants, were nabbed in separate incidents during the last 24 hours in trouble-torn Manipur.
The state police said on Tuesday that security forces arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in a mob attack on the RSS office in Haraorou in Imphal East district in November 2024.
Security forces also arrested a cadre of Kangleipak Communist Party-People's War Group KCP (PWG) from Khongjom along NH-102 in Thoubal district, police said.
Another Incident
In another incident security forces arrested two active members of KCP (PWG) from a rented house located at Mantripukhri Mercylane, Imphal East District .
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces at G. Khomunuam village, Churachandpur district, and recovered arms. Three hand grenades (locally assembled), two IEDs, tear smoke shells and anti-riot cartridge were also recovered, police said.
