Mau: Abbas Ansari, MLA from Mau and his brother Mansoor Ansari have been sentenced to two years of imprisonment over a 2022 hate speech case, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The MP/MLA court here found the duo Abbas and Mansoor found guilty in the case and charged a fine of Rs 2,000. Both are sons of deceased gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari.

Hence the hate speech by Abbas Ansari proved costly to him.

Abbas Ansari is an MLA from Om Prakash Rajbhar's Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. Abbas Ansari used hate speech during the assembly elections. After the court's announcement of the sentence, Abbas's MLA post is also in danger, possibly he may lose his MLA post after the announcement of the sentence.

How Did The Matter Start

The whole matter is of March 3, 2022. At that time during the assembly election campaign, Abbas Ansari threatened the government officials while addressing a public meeting at Paharpur Maidan in Mau. He had said that after the formation of the government, the first account will be taken from the officers. This statement was considered provocative and inflammatory. After this, Sub-Inspector Gangaram Bind registered a case.

Challenge In High Court

After the announcement of the sentence, Abbas Ansari has decided that he will approach the High Court against the decision of the CJM Court of Mau.

Mukhtar Ansari's son and Sadar MLA from Mau, Abbas Ansari, alleges that his side was not heard fully. Therefore, now he will go to the High Court with a complaint.
