Mandsaur: Ten people were killed after a van hit a bike and fell into an open well in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district on Sunday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
According to police sources, people travelling in the van were on their way to Mata temple in Neemuch district when the mishap occurred. At the same time, near Kacharia Chowpatty of Naraingarh police station area, the van collided with the motorcycle rider coming from the front, and after that, it fell uncontrollably into an unfenced well in the roadside field.
Ten people, including eight occupants of the van, a man riding a motorcycle and a man who went into the well during the rescue operation, were killed in the accident.
Four people were injured in the accident and have been admitted to the district hospital. After the incident, top officials of the district and police administration have reached the spot.
Local tried to save the car riders. He jumped into the well but he also suffocated due to gas leakage and died. The youth who ran to save the people has been identified as Manohar Singh. He was a resident of Sanjit village of Mandsaur.
Malhargarh SDOP Narendra Solanki said that 'the families of the deceased have been contacted and they have also been informed about the incident. The bodies of the deceased are being sent to the district hospital for post-mortem.'
At the same time, the people injured in this incident were sent to the district hospital. Where their treatment is going on. District Hospital Civil Surgeon Dr DK Sharma said that 'some of the injured are undergoing treatment.'
