Shivpuri: A road accident in Karera, located in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, has now escalated into a major political controversy. Pritam Lodhi’s son, Dinesh Lodhi, stands accused of striking five people with a speeding Thar SUV, leaving all of them injured.
The accident occurred around 7:30 AM on the morning of April 16. According to the FIR, a speeding black Thar collided with a motorcyclist and two women who were walking along the road. It is alleged that Dinesh Lodhi was driving the vehicle and that the accident took place while he was attempting a negligent overtake.
Immediately after the accident, MLA Pritam Lodhi took to social media to state that "the public comes first" and that the police should take impartial action. However, within just a few days, his stance shifted completely.
He issued an open warning to Karera’s SDOP (Sub-Divisional Officer of Police), Ayush Jakhar, declaring that any attempt to bar his son from entering the area would not be tolerated. He went so far as to challenge the officer, saying, "If you have the guts, try and stop him"—a remark that further inflamed the situation.
Accusing the police of bias, the MLA asserted that he would retaliate if any unjust action were taken against his family. He also warned officials to "stay within their limits."

The injured victims claim that, in the aftermath of the accident, neither the MLA nor his son made any effort to check on their well-being. This starkly highlights the discrepancy between their public claims and the reality on the ground. Past Controversies Resurface
Dinesh Lodhi has been embroiled in controversies on several previous occasions, facing allegations ranging from issuing threats to attempting to run people over with his vehicle. Meanwhile, Pritam Lodhi also possesses a criminal record and has previously been expelled from his political party.
