Rajasthan: 11 devotees killed, dozen injured as pickup collides with truck in Dausa

One injured died during treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. The condition of about half a dozen injured remains critical. All the injured have been referred to the nearest hospital and Jaipur.

Dausa: A horrific road accident took place in Rajasthan's Dausa district on Wednesday morning. In this, 11 devotees of Asaroli village of Etah district died. The dead also include women and children. A dozen people have been seriously injured in the accident.

More than three dozen devotees had gone to visit Khatu Shyamji in a Max pickup from Asaroli village. After visiting, everyone was returning. The accident took place near Vapi village of Sainthal police station area of Dausa district at around 3:30 am on Wednesday. A high-speed container coming from behind hit the pickup. The collision was so severe that the rear part of the pickup was completely shattered. There was a lot of screaming after the accident. People nearby ran for help. Police also reached the spot immediately.

Police detained the container driver

Police said that the cause of the accident is the high speed and negligence of the container. The container driver has been detained. The vehicle has been seized. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Chaos in the village

As soon as the news of the incident was received, there was chaos in Asaroli village. There is mourning in the houses whose members had gone to visit Khatu Shyamji. Relatives and neighbors are reaching to offer condolences. The whole village is immersed in grief.

The earning members of the family are gone

The people of the village say that this accident is the biggest sorrow of their life. The earning members of many families are gone. This accident also took away the innocent lives of children. The police has assured all possible help to the relatives of the deceased.
