New Delhi: Rinku Singh, a promising player of the Indian cricket team, has received a ransom threat of Rs 5 crore from the underworld. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, this threat is directly linked to Dawood Ibrahim's D Company.
It was told that between February and April 2025, threatening messages were sent to Rinku Singh's promotional team thrice, in which a huge ransom was demanded.
Mumbai Crime Branch's investigation revealed that D Company was behind the threat. This is the same gang that is associated with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The gang has been notorious for making threats and demanding ransom in several high-profile cases in the past.

Another case similar to this case has come to light. After the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, his son Zeeshan Siddiqui was also threatened with a ransom of ₹10 crore. In this case, with the help of Interpol, two accused, Mohammad Dilshad and Mohammad Naveed, were arrested in Trinidad and Tobago.
