Mumbai: An alleged audio recording threatening Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has emerged following the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. The speaker, purportedly identified as Anil Pandit, has demanded an apology to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, while warning of further violence. Mumbai Police are investigating the audio, a social media post claiming responsibility for the attack and the circumstances surrounding the shooting in Juhu.
Mumbai: A fresh security scare has gripped the Hindi film industry after an audio recording purportedly featuring Anil Pandit surfaced in connection with the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. The speaker allegedly threatened Salman Khan and warned of consequences for his family if he failed to apologise to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community.
According to the account provided in the report, the audio was shared by the Mumbai Crime Branch. In the recording, the speaker allegedly cautioned Salman against assuming that his security arrangements would protect him from an attack. The recording also contained threats against his family.
The authenticity of the audio and the identity of the person speaking remain matters for investigators to establish. The alleged threats have added a serious dimension to the investigation into the shooting incident, particularly because individuals claiming responsibility have also issued warnings directed at people associated with Salman Khan in the film industry.
The audio surfaced after three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at a BMW carrying Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area at around 7 pm on Sunday. The actor was reportedly leaving Pushpa Narsee Park, also known as Jamnabai Nursery, after attending a birthday gathering when the attackers targeted the vehicle.
According to the reported sequence of events, two assailants allegedly fired at the car while a third person waited on a motorcycle to facilitate their escape. Seven rounds were reportedly fired during the incident.
Shroff escaped without any gunshot injuries, although he sustained minor abrasions caused by shattered glass. His driver, Firdaus, suffered a bullet injury to his left hand, while a passerby was also injured.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of high-profile personalities in Mumbai, particularly amid the alleged use of targeted firing and online threats to intimidate people connected with the entertainment industry.
The investigation took another turn after Anil Pandit and another individual, identified as Harman Sandhu, allegedly claimed responsibility for the firing in a social media post. The post claimed that Shroff had previously been warned against working with Salman Khan but had disregarded the warning.
The message also threatened that others in the Mumbai film industry who worked with Salman Khan or failed to follow the group's alleged instructions could become targets. Investigators are examining the post to determine whether the claims are genuine and whether the individuals named have any direct connection with the shooting.
The post reportedly included a separate warning directed at rival groups allegedly using the same name to gain publicity or notoriety. Police are verifying the contents and origin of the message rather than treating the online claim as conclusive evidence of responsibility.
The alleged link between the firing and the threats concerning Salman Khan is now a key aspect of the case. However, the claims made in the recording and social media post have not, by themselves, established who carried out the attack or the motive behind it.
Mumbai Police have formed 15 teams, including Crime Branch personnel, to identify and track down the alleged attackers. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area, forensic evidence and other available leads to reconstruct the sequence of events and establish the identities of those involved.
The probe is also focused on verifying the audio recording and the social media post claiming responsibility. Investigators will need to establish whether the threats were issued by the people involved in the shooting, whether the claims were intended to mislead the investigation, and whether any wider network was involved.
With threats allegedly extending beyond Tiger Shroff to Salman Khan and other members of the film industry, the case has brought questions of celebrity security and organised intimidation back into focus. The investigation is ongoing, and the claims made by the individuals named in the reports remain subject to police verification.
