Police in Hyderabad busted an alleged drug party at a farmhouse in Moinabad, detaining several people including a sitting MP and a former MLA. Authorities said multiple individuals tested positive in drug tests after the late-night raid.

Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad conducted a late-night raid at a farmhouse in the Moinabad area on Saturday, busting what officials described as an alleged “drug party”.
According to officials, the operation was carried out by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) in coordination with local police teams after receiving a tip-off about suspected drug use at the location.

Authorities said six individuals, including a sitting Member of Parliament and a former legislator, tested positive in preliminary drug screening.
Those identified include Putta Mahesh Kumar, a Lok Sabha MP from Eluru representing the Telugu Desam Party, and former Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy.
Other individuals who allegedly tested positive include Delhi-based real estate businessman Namit Mishra, along with Kaushik Ravi and Arjun Reddy. Police said blood samples of the accused have been sent for detailed forensic examination to confirm the results.
Officials said around 11 people, including one woman, were present at the farmhouse when the raid was conducted at around 9 PM. The property is reportedly owned by Rohith Reddy. The operation involved teams from the Special Operations Team (SOT) and local police along with EAGLE officers.

During the raid, police alleged that Namit Mishra fired a round from a licensed firearm belonging to Ritesh Reddy after noticing the police team entering the premises. Authorities said no injuries were reported during the incident.
During the search operation, police recovered around two grams of a white powder suspected to be a narcotic substance, along with liquor bottles and hookah equipment.
Officials said further investigation is underway to determine the nature of the substance and possible violations under narcotics laws.
