Nalgonda: A shocking murder case in Telangana’s Nalgonda has been solved after police traced a small but crucial clue. School principal Kallu Roopa Reddy was found dead with 27 stab wounds at her residence on August 12.

During the investigation, police noticed that her last conversation before the phone was switched off included the word “Babu”, which helped investigators connect the case to students of her school.

Students Planned Murder for Money

Police said two Class 10 students allegedly planned the crime for several days. The accused had reportedly conducted a recce of the principal’s house, bought a knife and gloves, and planned to steal money.

Investigators found that the students had recently started spending heavily and throwing parties, raising suspicion.

Principal’s Action May Have Triggered Anger

According to police, the students had earlier been reprimanded by Roopa Reddy after cash and a mobile phone were found in their hostel bags. She informed their parents and changed their hostel status to day scholars.

Police suspect this incident may have created resentment against the principal.

Lavish Spending After Murder Exposed Them

On the day of the crime, one accused allegedly entered the house wearing a monkey cap and gloves. After finding ₹2.5 lakh cash, he tried to escape, but the cap slipped and the principal recognised him.

Fearing identification, he allegedly attacked her with a knife.

After the murder, the accused reportedly went on a trip to Goa and spent money. Police recovered cash, a newly purchased iPhone, the victim’s phone and other evidence.

Digital Search Revealed Their Plan

Investigators also found that the students had searched online for ways to earn money quickly before carrying out the crime.

The case highlights how greed, online influence and a desire for a lavish lifestyle allegedly pushed the teenagers into planning a brutal crime.
