Mumbai: Mumbai Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the firing targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, following a coordinated operation involving multiple state police forces. DCP Raj Tilak Roushan said the accused were traced to the Pune-Jaipur Express and apprehended by Kota Police in Rajasthan.

According to the officer, the incident occurred at around 7 pm on October 18. Three people were riding a motorcycle when two allegedly opened fire before fleeing. The Crime Branch subsequently formed around 20 special teams to investigate the case.

CCTV Footage Helped Police Track Suspects

Investigators combined field inquiries, CCTV footage and technical analysis to reconstruct the suspects’ movements. Police traced the motorcycle near Andheri West railway station and subsequently established that the suspects had travelled towards northern Mumbai before heading towards Surat.

Further investigation revealed that the accused were travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express. Mumbai Police contacted Kota Police, who apprehended the three suspects. The process of bringing them to Mumbai for further investigation is underway.

DCP Roushan acknowledged assistance from Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan Police in the operation.

Three Accused Identified, No Minor Involved

Police confirmed that the three accused include two individuals from Haryana and one from Bihar. The DCP specifically clarified that no minor is involved in the case, correcting earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

Attempted Murder and Arms Act Provisions Invoked

Police have initially invoked provisions relating to attempted murder and the Arms Act. Further action will depend on evidence emerging during the investigation, and the officer indicated that more arrests could follow. DCP also said investigators had no record of Tiger Shroff receiving prior threat calls connected to the incident. Police are examining whether a wider conspiracy was involved and said they were following established procedures and relevant court directions.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to establish the motive and identify any additional people connected to the firing.
