46 Calls After Twisha Sharma’s Death Raise Questions
Bhopal: The investigation into the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma in Bhopal has taken a new turn after her family alleged that her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh a retired additional district judge made multiple phone calls to influential individuals a day after Twisha died by suicide.
According to the family, these calls were made on May 13, a day after the incident at the couple’s residence in Katara Hills. They claim that several contacts included individuals associated with the judiciary, along with relatives and other acquaintances. The family has also released a list of phone numbers and questioned the timing and purpose of these communications.
Twisha’s family has urged authorities to preserve all electronic records linked to the case, including call detail records, tower data, location logs, internet activity, messaging apps, emails, and cloud backups. They have also requested forensic safeguarding of CCTV coordination records and device access logs to prevent any possible tampering or deletion of evidence.
They have further demanded that digital data belonging to individuals connected directly or indirectly to the accused side be secured, including staff, associates and others linked to the household.
The family’s lawyer, Ankur Pandey, has alleged that the case may involve communication with nearly 46 individuals between the night of May 12 and May 13. He claimed these interactions could be relevant to understanding events surrounding Twisha’s death and has moved court seeking preservation of related call records.
Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, who is currently absconding, has filed a bail application in the Jabalpur High Court. Earlier, a magistrate court had rejected his anticipatory bail plea while granting relief to his mother, Giribala Singh.
Police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Dowry Prohibition Act. Authorities have also announced a reward for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest and moved to revoke his passport.
Twisha Sharma, originally from Noida and working in communications, was found dead on May 12. Her family has alleged harassment after marriage and continues to demand a detailed investigation into all circumstances surrounding her death.
