Two Pakistani nationals who escaped from a juvenile observation home in Jammu were arrested in Ludhiana within 24 hours. One of the accused, a local gangster who attacked the police and fled, is still absconding and a search is underway.

Ludhiana: Two Pakistani nationals who escaped from the Juvenile Observation Home in RS Pura, Jammu, were arrested by police in Ludhiana, Punjab, within 24 hours. According to officials, their arrests were made by a special team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. However, the third accused, reportedly a local gangster who escaped in this incident, remains at large.
On Monday evening at around 5:30 pm, three inmates attacked policemen on duty at the Juvenile Observation Home in RS Pura and attempted to escape. Two policemen were injured in the attack. The injured have been identified as Special Police Officer (SPO) Vinay Kumar and Head Constable Parveen Kumar. Both were immediately provided medical treatment.
The escaped accused were identified as Ahsan Anwar and Mohammad Sanaullah, residents of Pakistan. The third accused is Karanjit Singh, alias Gugga, a resident of the RS Pura area of Jammu.
Following the incident, the police immediately took cognizance and launched a massive search operation. Several special teams were formed, and raids were conducted at various locations. Based on technical and human intelligence inputs, the two Pakistani nationals were arrested from a village in Ludhiana.
Police are now investigating how the escape was planned and whether any external assistance was involved. The search for the third accused is ongoing. Officials say a thorough investigation is underway to uncover any security lapses.
