Bhopal: The family of Twisha Sharma, whose death is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Tuesday questioned the Madhya Pradesh Police over what they described as "contradictory" statements regarding an alleged burglary at her in-laws' residence.
The family also demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. The remarks came after a Bhopal court declined to consider an oral request by the defence seeking permission for accused Giribala Singh, a retired judge, to visit her residence following the reported burglary, observing that such a plea must be filed through a formal written application.

Speaking to reporters, Twisha's brother Harshit Sharma alleged that different versions of the burglary had emerged from the police and the defence. He questioned how a burglary involving jewellery and documents could allegedly take place without the knowledge of family members present inside the house.
Harshit also claimed that statements made by the Police Commissioner and an Assistant Commissioner of Police did not match, raising questions about the investigation. He further alleged that the police had reached the spot quickly and detained suspects but said the sequence of events remained unclear.
Twisha's father, Navnidhi Sharma, also questioned the police's handling of the alleged burglary, saying multiple accounts had been presented regarding the incident. He called for a detailed investigation and sought greater transparency in the probe.
The family further urged that the case be shifted to Delhi, alleging institutional bias and expressing concerns over the fairness of the investigation.
The police have not publicly responded to the family's latest allegations. Meanwhile, the CBI continues its investigation into Twisha Sharma's death.
