RJD faces setback; Tejashwi’s seat in danger

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are not living up to expectations for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) like in previous years. The party appears headed for its worst performance this time. Tejashwi Yadav may not only abandon his dream of becoming Chief Minister, but also face difficulties in securing the post of Leader of the Opposition.

According to the latest trends, the RJD is leading in only 24-25 seats. A minimum of 25 MLAs are required to become the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly. This means the RJD needs to win 25 seats to secure the post of Leader of the Opposition on its own. If the party remains stuck at 24 seats, Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD will not be able to secure the post.

BJP poised to govern Bihar without JD(U); What’s next for Nitish Kumar?

The results of the Bihar Assembly elections are due shortly. Trends indicate that the NDA is poised to once again capture power in Bihar by winning over 200 seats.

This time, the BJP appears to be winning with a record number of seats.

The equations emerging based on the trends are both interesting and surprising. The BJP is poised to become the largest party in the state.

If current trends are considered a baseline, and if these trends hold, the BJP could form government in the state even without JDU. This means the BJP will not need Nitish Kumar to form a government.

It can form a government by excluding JDU and joining forces with other NDA allies.
