AI-edited videos of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan surface; Actress seeks legal action

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is in the news for an important legal matter. She has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to protect her personality and publicity rights. Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi appeared in the court on behalf of Aishwarya and argued that the actress's identity and pictures are being used commercially without permission.

Illegal Use Of Photos And Videos

The petition states that many websites and platforms are using Aishwarya's pictures and videos for their own benefit. The court was told that wallpapers and photos have been put up in her name on some websites, while a company is selling T-shirts with her pictures. No permission was taken from Aishwarya for all these activities.

Lawyer Gave Examples In Court

Sandeep Sethi told the court that some websites and social media platforms are earning money in the name of Aishwarya Rai. Some screenshots of YouTube were also presented in the court, in which Aishwarya's face has been wrongly put on the video with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This content is not only false but also objectionable. The lawyer said that some people are doing this only for financial gain, while some people are using her image to fulfill inappropriate desires, which is very shameful.

Strict Stand Of Court

During the hearing, the High Court said that it is very important to stop the violation of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's rights. Citing the film Andaz Apna Apna case, the court said that objectionable links were removed from Google earlier as well. The court also ordered in this case that 151 URLs be removed immediately. It also made it clear that separate orders will be issued against each accused. The court directed that all links illegally using Aishwarya's pictures and name should be deleted by this evening. The next hearing will be on January 15, 2026.

Protection Of Personal Rights Is Important

The lawyer says that this whole matter is related to personality rights and personal dignity. Misusing the identity of a celebrity without permission is not only illegal but also harms their reputation. Aishwarya has appealed to the court to stop such activities immediately so that such an incident does not happen with anyone in the future.
