New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is all set to break new ground in Indian cinema with his upcoming film Samuk — being hailed as India’s first large-scale alien sci-fi thriller. Directed by Kanishk Varma, the ambitious project promises a cinematic experience unlike anything audiences in India have seen before.

A Bold New Genre for Akshay Kumar

Confirming the project officially, Akshay revealed that Samuk represents a completely fresh space not only for his own career but also for Indian cinema. The actor shared that the film’s gripping script deeply impressed him and convinced him to take on this experimental venture.

Known for constantly reinventing himself on screen, Akshay will reportedly appear in a never-seen-before avatar in the film, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.

Akshay and Vipul Shah Reunite After 12 Years

The film is being jointly produced by Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, marking their reunion after more than a decade. The duo has previously delivered several successful films together, and Samuk is expected to be one of their most ambitious collaborations yet.

Hollywood Experts Brought Onboard

To ensure world-class production quality, the makers have roped in renowned Hollywood talent for the film’s action and creature design.

Former Royal Marine Commando and celebrated stunt coordinator Luke Tumbler has been hired to design the film’s action sequences. Tumbler has previously worked on blockbuster franchises including Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Venom, and Star Wars.

Meanwhile, the film’s terrifying alien creature is being designed by Oscar-nominated creature-effects artist Alec Gillis, known for his work on iconic franchises like Alien and Predator.

Practical Effects Over CGI

In an era dominated by AI-generated visuals and CGI-heavy filmmaking, Alec Gillis revealed that the alien in Samuk will be created using practical, hand-crafted effects to make the creature feel more realistic and terrifying on screen.

According to Gillis, the goal is to create a monster powerful enough to match Akshay Kumar’s screen presence and physicality.

“Akshay Has the Energy of Jason Statham and the Stardom of Tom Cruise”

Praising the Bollywood superstar, Alec Gillis compared Akshay Kumar’s physique to Jason Statham and his popularity to Tom Cruise.

He stated that the team is designing an alien villain whose intensity and energy can stand toe-to-toe with Akshay on screen, promising audiences an electrifying cinematic clash.

Akshay Kumar was last seen in Bhoot Bangla, which performed well at the box office. With Samuk, the actor now appears ready to venture into uncharted territory and potentially redefine the sci-fi genre in Indian cinema.
