New Delhi: Fans had been upset and requesting the return of Paresh Rawal, aka Babu Rao, in Phir Hera Pheri 3 since he announced his exit from the film through an X post. Now, after being sued by Akshay Kumar and returning 11 lakh rupees with interest, Paresh Rawal has confirmed his return in the movie, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
In his recent podcast, he was asked about the controversy of the movie. To which he replied that the audience has given so much adulation and love to me that I have to be extra careful and cannot take things for granted. Just do the hard work and deliver them the movie.
He further stated that all I wanted was for everyone to work hard and be together. Now everything is resolved.
When he was asked about the reconfirmation of the third installment of the film, he replied that it was about to release, but we had to fine-tune ourselves. After all, all of them are creative, be it Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, or Sunil Shetty. They have been friends for many, many, many years.
The controversy so far
There were circulating reports suggesting that Paresh Rawal exited the film due to creative differences with director Priyadarshan.
Clarifying the situation, Paresh Rawal took to X on May 18, stating, “I want to make it clear that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 had nothing to do with creative disagreements. I reaffirm that I have no creative differences with the director. I have deep love, respect, and trust in Mr. Priyadarshan.”
Just two days after his departure, Akshay Kumar's production house filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Rawal, accusing him of derailing the shoot. Akshay, who now owns the rights to Hera Pheri 3 after purchasing them from producer Feroz Nadiadwala, is also producing the film.
Amid the legal dispute, Rawal's legal team confirmed that the actor had repaid ₹11 lakh along with 15% interest to Akshay’s company. Rawal added on X, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has issued an appropriate response justifying my legitimate termination and exit. Once they review it, the matter will be resolved.”
