Mumbai: Bhooth Bangla made a tremendous start at the box office immediately upon its release. The duo of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan made a comeback after a long hiatus, and audiences embraced the film wholeheartedly. The movie had already raked in ₹3.75 crore from paid previews alone, followed by a collection of ₹12.25 crore on its opening day.
A massive surge in earnings was observed on the second and third days. With collections of ₹19 crore on Saturday and ₹23 crore on Sunday, the opening weekend proved to be immensely successful.
Typically, a film's earnings tend to dip after the weekend; however, Bhooth Bangla continued to perform well during the weekdays. On the fourth day, the film earned ₹6.75 crore, and on the fifth day, it collected ₹8 crore.
Thus, within five days, the film achieved a net collection of approximately ₹72.75 crore in India—a performance considered robust for any film.
The film continued its strong earning streak on the sixth day—Wednesday—as well. According to early reports, the movie had earned around ₹0.85 crore by the afternoon, a figure that rose to approximately ₹3.20 crore by the evening.
In terms of occupancy, it hovered around the 10% mark, which is considered a decent figure for a weekday.
Bhooth Bangla is performing exceptionally well not only in India but also in international markets. By the end of the fifth day, the film had garnered ₹31.50 crore in overseas territories.
All in all, the film's worldwide collection has now surpassed ₹118 crore, making it abundantly clear that the movie has resonated deeply with audiences.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the film features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. He is joined by a stellar ensemble cast of seasoned actors, including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.
The film offers a brilliant blend of horror and comedy—a combination that has successfully managed to draw audiences into the theaters. Bhooth Bangla's performance so far has been spectacular.
