The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board sealed the Bigg Boss Kannada studio at Jollywood Studios for alleged environmental violations and lack of mandatory permissions, forcing contestants and staff to vacate the premises late Tuesday night.

Bengaluru: In a late-night move, Karnataka authorities sealed the Bigg Boss Kannada studio located at Jollywood Studios and Adventures in Bidadi, near Bengaluru. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued immediate closure orders citing non-compliance with the Water and Air Acts, marking a major setback for the ongoing Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 hosted by superstar Kiccha Sudeep.

Over 700 staff members, including technicians and crew working across three shifts for six months, were asked to vacate. All contestants were safely escorted out of the iconic Bigg Boss house, which has been locked and sealed by officials.

Contestants Shifted to Resort After Evacuation

Sources confirmed that the contestants have been temporarily relocated to Eagleton Resort, with transport arranged by the show’s organisers. The lavish Bigg Boss house, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹5 crore, has now been officially shut down.

Ramanagara Tahsildar Tejaswini supervised the entire sealing operation, ensuring compliance with the official closure order.

Government Cites Pollution and Legal Violations

State Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre confirmed the action, stating, “In spite of issuing repeated notices, the organisers continued violations. No one is above the law, and we will act strictly as per legal provisions.”

The minister further revealed that Vels Studios and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., which manages the Jollywood premises, had failed to obtain required permissions under the Air and Water Acts. The KSPCB cited violations under Section 31(A) of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, directing power disconnection to the premises.

Officials also noted that despite earlier notices and inspections, operations at the studio continued, violating Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines.

Future of the Show Uncertain

With the power supply cut and the set sealed, the future of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 remains uncertain. Minister Khandre clarified that while legal action has been taken, the show’s organisers have the right to appeal in court.

As fans await an official statement from Colors Kannada or Kiccha Sudeep, questions loom large over whether the show will resume or face permanent suspension.
