BTS creates history at AMAs 2026 with SWIM win and their reunion speech stole the show

BTS made an emotional return to the 2026 AMAs, winning Artist of the Year and Song of the Summer while sparking a global frenzy online with heartfelt speeches, reunion moments and K-pop dominance.

New Delhi: BTS is a big deal in the music world and they just went back to the American Music Awards in 2026. This event was held in Las Vegas. It was a huge night for music. BTS has seven members and they did not just win two awards they also got everyone talking about them online.

The American Music Awards were hosted by Queen Latifah in Las Vegas. This ceremony was about celebrating music from different genres like pop and R&B and Latin music and K-pop. BTS was one of the parts of the night.

BTS Wins Artist of the Year and Song of the Summer

BTS won two awards: Artist of the Year. Song of the Summer. They got Artist of the Year. This just makes their legacy even stronger at the American Music Awards. They also won Song of the Summer for their song "SWIM”. This is a deal because BTS is the only Asian group to win this award.

When BTS gave their acceptance speech the leader RM thanked all the fans around the world for supporting them. He talked about how hard it was for the band to make music and find a sound that is true to who they are now.

K-pop Dominates the 2026 AMAs

Kim Taehyung, who is also known as V also talked to the fans. Got emotional. He told everyone to keep going and thanked BigHit Music, which's the label that supports BTS  and  kept talking about their fans, who they call the ARMY and said they are their biggest supporters.

BTS Also Takes Home Best Male K-pop Artist

BTS also won Best Male K-pop Artist. They even went on stage to give an award to SZA, who's a great R&B artist. When BTS appeared on stage it made a lot of people emotional online. The fans said it was a moment because BTS has been doing solo things and some members even joined the military.

K-pop was really big, at the American Music Awards. A new girl group called KATSEYE won some awards, including New Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for their song "Gnarly”. Another K-pop group, but not a real one called HUNTR/X won Song of the Year for "Golden”.

Other people who won awards include Sabrina Carpenter, who got Album of the Year and Best Female Pop Artist. Karol G also got an award called the International Artist Award of Excellence.
