New Delhi: Actor Ranveer Singh has found himself at the centre of a fresh controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him following his reported exit from Don 3. The move has triggered discussions across the film industry about the impact such directives can have on an actor’s professional commitments.

What FWICE’s Directive Means

FWICE’s action is not a legal ban imposed by any government authority. Instead, it is an industry-level non-cooperation call directed at workers and technicians affiliated with the federation. The organisation has reportedly advised its members not to collaborate with Ranveer Singh on film shoots and related projects.

Since film production relies heavily on technicians, production crews and associated workers, such directives can create practical difficulties for ongoing and future projects. However, the directive does not legally stop the actor from signing films or continuing his acting career.

Reports also suggest that the situation could affect the scheduling and production of new projects until the dispute linked to Don 3 is resolved.

Dispute Linked to ‘Don 3’

The controversy began after Ranveer Singh reportedly stepped away from Don 3, a film backed by Excel Entertainment. FWICE stated that the actor allegedly did not appear before the federation despite repeated requests to explain his position regarding the project.

According to reports, Excel Entertainment has also sought compensation amounting to Rs 45 crore, citing losses related to pre-production work carried out before the actor’s reported exit from the film.

The issue has intensified public interest in the project, which had already generated significant buzz after Ranveer Singh was announced as the lead actor in the popular franchise.

Ranveer Singh Responds

Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson later released a statement saying the actor preferred to handle professional disagreements privately and with dignity.

The statement added that Singh had deliberately chosen not to react publicly despite growing speculation around the matter. It further said that his focus remained on his work and upcoming commitments.

The development has now become one of the most talked-about issues in Bollywood, with industry observers closely watching how the dispute unfolds in the coming weeks.
