New Delhi: Since its release on March 19, Dhurandhar 2 has delivered a spectacular performance at the box office. The film set a new record by collecting over ₹1000 crore in just three weeks, becoming the second-highest-grossing film in the country.
In its initial days, the film's earnings were exceptionally rapid. It raked in massive revenue during its very first week and garnered immense love from the audience.
Like every major film, this movie has now reached a phase where earnings naturally begin to taper off. By the third week, audience footfall has started to decrease, and the impact of this is clearly visible in the collection figures.
On its 21st day, the film earned approximately ₹7.90 crore, whereas by the evening of the 22nd day, the collection stood at only around ₹3 to ₹3.5 crore.
The film's occupancy—the rate at which theater seats are filled—has also declined. On the 22nd day, it hovered around 12.2%, indicating that the crowds are no longer as dense as they were initially.
However, this decline is considered normal, as it is a common occurrence for films that enjoy a long theatrical run.
Despite the dip in earnings, the film has established several major records. Its total net collection in India has now exceeded ₹1041 crore.
Meanwhile, its worldwide gross collection has surpassed the ₹1600 crore mark. The film has performed well in overseas markets as well, further solidifying its global success.
In this film, Ranveer Singh portrays the character of an Indian spy named Hamza. The story revolves around his past and his mission. The film also features a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.
All in all, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ continues to be a massive hit. Although its earnings have begun to show a decline, it has already established its dominance at the box office. It remains to be seen how many more records the film will break in the days to come.
