New Delhi: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has now become a part of a University course. A course based on Diljit will be started at The Creative School of Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) in Toronto. This was announced during the recent NXNE Billboard Summit in Toronto.

The summit was attended by the giants of the music and media industry and it was told there that Diljit's work and his global influence will be linked to education. The course will focus on his music, cinema and cultural contributions as well as his role and identity in the overseas diaspora.

The aim of the course is not only to show Diljit's career, but also to understand how a Punjabi artist made his mark on the international stage. Diljit's popularity, especially among Punjabi and Indian origin people living in Western countries, will be seen from an academic perspective. This course will also shed light on the cultural relations between India and Canada.

Celebrities Part Of Education

This is not the first time that the life of an Indian celebrity has become a part of education. Earlier, many great artists and social workers have been included in school books.

Priyanka Chopra's story is taught in the CBSE Class 5 Environmental Studies book titled 'Moving Families, Shifting Homes'. It describes her experiences of living in different places due to her army family.

A lesson on Palak Muchhal has also been included in CBSE and Maharashtra Board books. It tells the story of her social service work, especially raising funds for the treatment of children's diseases.

Rajinikanth story is being taught in the CBSE Class 6 book as a lesson titled 'From Bus Conductor to Film Star'. It is an inspiring story of his struggle and success.

Apart form this, Dr Rajkumar biography is taught in Karnataka Class 5 books, which gives a glimpse of his early life to his four-decade-long career.
