Mumbai: During the hearing, the Bombay High Court raised questions over the earlier probe conducted by Mumbai Police. The court questioned why only an Accidental Death Report (ADR) was registered despite allegations raised by Disha Salian’s family.

The bench also sought clarity over the handling of key documents, including the post-mortem report and ADR records, which the family claimed were not provided to them for several years.

Disha Salian Died Days Before Sushant Singh Rajput

Disha Salian, aged 28, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad area.

Her death came just six days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, leading to widespread discussions and speculation due to the timing of both incidents. However, earlier investigations did not establish any confirmed link between the two cases.

Family Alleged Foul Play, Sought Fresh Probe

Disha Salian’s father had approached the court claiming that the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death required a deeper investigation.

He alleged that the previous investigation did not properly examine certain aspects of the case and requested a CBI probe to uncover the truth.

Police Earlier Called It Suicide Case

Mumbai Police had earlier maintained that the investigation pointed towards suicide and ruled out foul play.

A Special Investigation Team formed by the Maharashtra government in 2023 also reached conclusions similar to the earlier police probe.

CBI To Examine All Aspects Of Case

With the Bombay High Court’s latest order, the case will now undergo a fresh investigation by the CBI.

The court has also clarified that no person should be considered an accused unless the investigating agency finds sufficient evidence against them during the probe.
