New Delhi: Television actress Mahhi Vij has finally addressed the swirling rumours about her alleged divorce from actor-host Jay Bhanushali. The couple, married for over 14 years, has been at the centre of social media chatter after reports claimed they had “finalised” their divorce earlier this year.
While Mahhi had so far maintained silence on the matter, she took a firm stand after an Instagram post went viral, falsely suggesting she had confirmed the split.

The post in question featured a fabricated screenshot of what appeared to be Mahhi’s tweet, alongside a long caption claiming the couple had officially parted ways.

The caption read, “It’s over? After 14 years of marriage Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij heading for a divorce. Sources confirmed that the divorce papers were signed and finalised between July and August 2025. The custody of their three children has also been decided.”
It further alleged that “trust issues” had led to the breakdown of the relationship and that the couple was last seen together at their daughter Tara’s birthday party.
Adding to the misinformation, the fake screenshot quoted Mahhi as saying, “I am officially divorced as of five minutes ago. No matter the scenario, divorce will always be a sad thing.” The post quickly gained traction across entertainment pages, fueling speculation about the couple’s relationship status.
Mahhi Vij issues strong warning
Breaking her silence, Mahhi took to the comment section of the viral post to set the record straight. Dismissing the claims outright, she wrote, “Don’t post false narratives. I’ll take legal action against this.”
Her comment made it clear that she was not amused by the baseless rumours and was ready to pursue legal measures against the spread of misinformation. The actress has not issued any formal statement beyond her Instagram remark but her response has put a halt to the ongoing gossip at least for now.
