Eetha Teaser Out: Shraddha Kapoor stuns as Lavani legend Vithabai Narayangaonkar

New Delhi: After the massive success of Chhaava, filmmaker Laxman Utekar is back with another powerful story rooted in Maharashtra’s cultural history. His upcoming film Eetha brings to the big screen the life of legendary Lavani and Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, with Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role.

Teaser Leak Creates Buzz

The teaser of Eetha was reportedly first screened in theatres along with Cocktail 2. Soon after, clips from the teaser surfaced online and went viral. Following the leak and growing audience curiosity, the makers officially released the teaser.

The teaser opens with a performance by Bhau Gaonkar Tamasha Mandal, where the crowd eagerly waits for Eethabai to appear on stage. Backstage, Eethabai is shown nine months pregnant and delivering her baby herself. Moments later, despite being warned that she could die, she insists on getting ready for the performance.

In one of the teaser’s most striking lines, Eethabai says that if she dies lying down, she will be remembered as a helpless woman, but if she dies while dancing, she will become a legend. The dialogue captures the artist’s fierce dedication to her craft.

Who Was Vithabai Narayangaonkar?

Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar was one of Maharashtra’s most celebrated Lavani and Tamasha performers. Known for her commanding stage presence and extraordinary commitment, she entertained generations and became a symbol of folk performance culture. She received President’s medals in 1957 and 1990 for her contribution to Tamasha.

Cast And Release Date

Backed by Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, Eetha is directed by Laxman Utekar. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Anant Joshi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in key roles. Eetha is scheduled to release in theatres on August 28, 2026.
