New Delhi: Anne Hathaway became emotional during a grand fan event in Shanghai for The Devil Wears Prada 2. While walking the red carpet, she was visibly moved by the huge crowd of fans cheering for her. Dressed in an elegant gown, Hathaway greeted fans warmly as she climbed a staircase designed in a style inspired by the Met Gala. Overwhelmed by the love and energy from the audience, she could not hold back her tears.
“I am overwhelmed. I wasn’t expecting to feel emotional but there are so many of you. Thank you for all of this,” she said during the event.
The event brought together several major stars from the original film series, including Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Their appearance delighted fans who have waited years for the sequel. The fan event created a glamorous atmosphere celebrating the return of the beloved characters from the fashion world classic.
The upcoming film continues the story two decades after the original hit, The Devil Wears Prada. The sequel reunites the main cast with director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna. Along with returning favorites, the film introduces new characters played by stars such as Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and B.J. Novak.
Original cast members Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also return in their roles from the first film.
