How Sanjay Kapoor died

Sanjay Kapoor died on 12 June 2025 during a polo match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. While playing in the semi-finals of the Queen's Cup, he accidentally swallowed a bee, which is believed to have stung him in the mouth or throat.

The sting caused a severe allergic reaction, causing a heart attack. He was 53 years old at the time. Sanjay Kapoor is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapoor, a Delhi-based model-turned-entrepreneur.

Sanjay and Priya married in 2017 and have a son Azarius Kapoor who was born in December 2018. He is now 6 years old. Sanjay also has two children from Karisma Kapoor (2003-2016) - Samaira Kapoor, 20, and Kiaan Raj Kapoor, 14.

Family dispute

After Sanjay's demise, legal fights have started in the family over his property. Sanjay's mother, Rani Kapoor, has claimed that she was pressured to sign documents in favor of her daughter-in-law Priya (Sanjay's second wife).
