Kartik Aaryan begins shooting for Naagzilla
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has officially kicked off the shoot of his much-anticipated fantasy-comedy film Naagzilla. On Saturday, the actor took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans, posting a cheerful photo of himself holding a clapboard that read “Naagzilla,” directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.
In the picture, Kartik can be seen flashing his trademark smile, holding the film’s clapboard that also featured a haldi teeka- a sign that a puja ceremony was held before the shoot began. The actor captioned the post, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 👻 🤙🏻 Day 1 of #Naagzilla 🐍🎬 Har Har Mahadev🙏”, symbolising a divine beginning that coincides with the anniversary of his blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
In Naagzilla, Kartik Aaryan will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar that of an “Ichchadhari Naag” named Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. The film, a fantasy adventure with comedic undertones, is set to explore the mystical world of serpents in a humorous and entertaining way.

The first look of Kartik from Naagzilla was unveiled earlier in April 2025 through a motion poster shared by Karan Johar. The teaser had already created a buzz for its quirky concept and Kartik’s mythical transformation. Johar had captioned it, “Insanon wali picturein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali picture! Naag lok ka pehla kaand – Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein 14 August 2026 ko!”
The movie boasts an impressive production team. Naagzilla is being produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain. The film promises a fusion of fantasy, folklore, and fun, aiming to deliver a cinematic experience unlike any other in the genre.
