Mumbai: A deeply saddening loss has struck the Indian music world. Legendary singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Her demise has sent shockwaves across the nation, leaving millions of music lovers heartbroken and mourning the loss of an iconic voice.

She was undergoing treatment at the hospital

According to reports, Asha Bhosle suffered a cardiac arrest and developed serious lung problems. After her health deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening.

On Saturday, news of the deteriorating health of renowned singer Asha Bhosle surfaced. Her granddaughter, Janai Bhosle, announced in an Instagram post that she had been hospitalized due to extreme fatigue and a chest infection. She also requested privacy. There were hopes that she would recover during treatment, but that hope was ultimately dashed.

Crowds gathered outside the hospital and home

Following the news of the singer's deteriorating health, a large crowd of fans gathered outside the hospital. A large number of people also gathered outside her residence. Everyone was praying for her speedy recovery, but the news of her passing left everyone in deep shock.

Funeral to be held on Monday

Asha Bhosle's funeral will be held on Monday. Her body will be kept for the final darshan at her home in Lower Parel at 11 a.m. Afterward, her last rites will be performed at Shivaji Park in Dadar at 4 p.m. Her sister, Lata Mangeshkar, was also cremated at this very spot.

Musical Journey Began with Struggles

Born on September 8, 1933, Asha Bhosle came from a musical family. Her father, Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, was a renowned classical singer and actor. She was Lata Mangeshkar's younger sister. After her father's death when she was just nine years old, the family faced many struggles.

Career Started with a Marathi Film

Asha Bhosle began her career by singing the song "Chala Chala Naav Wala" from the Marathi film "Majha Bal" (1943). Her first song in Hindi cinema was "Sawan Aaya" from the film "Chunriya" (1948). Subsequently, she sang thousands of songs in a career spanning more than five decades, establishing herself among the legendary figures of Indian music.
