Mumbai: Actor Madhuri Dixit and her husband, Dr Shriram Nene, have marked 27 years of marriage with a nostalgic look back at their wedding day. Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon celebrated the milestone by sharing rare photographs from their wedding and related celebrations, accompanied by a heartfelt message reflecting on their journey together.
The couple, who married in California in 1999, have built a family life together while navigating the demands of Madhuri’s successful entertainment career and Nene’s medical profession.
Revisiting their wedding at the Beverly Hills courthouse in California, Nene recalled how the couple began their life together without knowing what the future would hold.

In his anniversary message, he reflected on their two sons, the memories they have created, the challenges they have faced and the laughter they have shared over nearly three decades.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to their relationship, saying he would choose Madhuri all over again. Concluding his note, Nene wished his wife a happy anniversary and expressed excitement about the chapters still ahead, signing off with the phrase, “To infinity and beyond, together.”
The photographs offered a glimpse into the couple’s early days including their ring exchange and celebrations with family and friends.
Madhuri and Nene tied the knot in a private ceremony in 1999. Nene, who grew up in the United States and pursued a career in medicine, reportedly knew little about the actor’s immense popularity when they first met through her brother.

Following their marriage, Madhuri moved to Denver, Colorado, where Nene was pursuing his medical career. The couple welcomed their first son, Arin, in March 2003, followed by their younger son, Ryan, in March 2005.
During this phase, Madhuri stepped away from full-time acting to focus on motherhood and family life. She returned to films with Aaja Nachle in 2007.
The family moved back to India in 2011, after which Madhuri gradually resumed taking on acting assignments across films and television.
Over the years, Madhuri has remained active across cinema, television and digital platforms. Her professional journey has continued alongside her family life, making the couple’s anniversary a moment to revisit both personal milestones and lasting memories.
Recently, filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan visited the couple’s home for a cooking vlog. During the interaction, Nene recalled feeling like a prom king at their wedding reception, explaining that he was unfamiliar with most of the celebrity guests. He remembered Amitabh Bachchan as the one star he recognised, having watched the film Amar Akbar Anthony.
