Akshaye Khanna’s Shukracharya Avatar Creates Buzz (Img: You Tube)
New Delhi: The makers of the upcoming mythological film Mahakali have unveiled the first glimpse of the movie, introducing audiences to a grand world filled with mythology, battles and powerful characters.
Titled “Shukracharya’s WarCry”, the nearly three-minute-long glimpse focuses on Akshaye Khanna’s character as Shukracharya, the legendary guru of the Asuras.
The actor appears in an intense and commanding avatar, showcasing a completely different side of his performance. His powerful screen presence has become the biggest talking point of the glimpse.
Although the makers have kept the storyline under wraps, the glimpse hints at a massive conflict between the forces of Dharma and Adharma.
The video showcases large-scale visuals, dramatic battle sequences and a mythological world built with extensive visual effects. The closing moments suggest that Shukracharya’s role could play a crucial part in a much larger war.
Apart from Akshaye Khanna, the film features Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty and Rohit Saraf in important roles. Sriya Reddy’s appearance in the glimpse adds more mystery to the narrative, while the makers have kept details about the characters and storyline limited.
The makers have officially announced that Mahakali will hit theatres on January 8, 2027. The release date announcement came along with the first glimpse, giving fans their first major look at the film’s scale and visual world.
Mahakali is the next major project from filmmaker Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe, which began with the successful mythological superhero film Hanu-Man.
The franchise aims to explore Indian mythology and Itihasa through a modern cinematic approach. The film is directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru and produced under the RKD Studios banner by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal.
