Mumbai: Actor Katrina Kaif and her husband Vicky Kaushal, who recently announced that they are expecting their first child, have found themselves at the centre of a massive privacy controversy.
A media portal on Friday shared leaked photographs of the mom-to-be sitting in her own home’s balcony in Mumbai. The pictures, showing Katrina’s visible baby bump, quickly went viral, sparking outrage among fans and celebrities alike.
Neither Katrina nor Vicky has issued an official statement yet, but social media users expressed strong anger over what they called a “disgusting invasion of privacy.” Many demanded police action against the portal and the person who took the photographs without consent.

One fan commented, “Where’s the privacy? It’s her home why click her at her balcony?” Another wrote, “This is a crime. Police should take strict action against whoever took and shared these pictures.” Several others urged the media outlet to delete the photos and respect the couple’s personal space.
Among those who came forward to condemn the act was actor Sonakshi Sinha, who didn’t mince words in calling out the publication. Taking to the comment section of the viral post, she wrote, “What is wrong with you’ll? Photographing a woman in her own home without consent and publishing it on a public platform? You’ll are nothing less than criminals. Shameful.”
Her comment has since been widely shared, with many industry insiders echoing her sentiments about the growing disregard for celebrity privacy in the digital age.
This isn’t the first time an actor’s personal space has been violated in such a manner. In 2022, when Alia Bhatt was pregnant with her daughter Raha Kapoor, a similar incident occurred. A media outlet had published unauthorized photos of Alia sitting inside her Mumbai home, taken from an adjacent building.

I was in my house having a normal afternoon when I realized two men were on the terrace of a neighbouring building pointing a camera at me! In what world is this okay?” She had also tagged the Mumbai Police, demanding action.
Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who tied the knot in December 2021, announced their pregnancy in September this year. Rumours first began circulating in July when a video of Katrina at a ferry port went viral. Since then, the couple has largely stayed away from public appearances, preferring to spend time at home with family as they prepare to welcome their first child.
This latest incident has reignited the debate on the limits of paparazzi culture and the urgent need to draw boundaries when it comes to the private lives of public figures.
