New Delhi: The trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is out, and it is all about the battle of exes. The trailer shares a glimpse into a twisted love story, with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor pretending to be in love to make their exes jealous. The exes are played by Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra.

The premise is light but engaging; Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) pretend to be a couple in order to make their respective exes jealous. As the plan unfolds, they are straight into the madness of a wedding, where everything spirals out of control.

Alongside, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf step in as the former lovers, adding more sparks to this chaotic love square. There is more chaos added in the storyline with Varun falling for Janhvi eventually.

The two-minute and 54 second trailer opens with actor Varun Dhawan proposing to Sanya Malhotra in filmy style, which she refuses, leading to a hilarious roller coaster ride for the actor as he makes a plan to win her back. The trailer mixes confusion, humour and romance. It features many one-liners, romantic moments, and elaborate dance numbers set against the backdrop of a lavish Indian wedding. The trailer also includes many references from other Bollywood films, with Varun using his father David Dhawan's film Raja Babu to pen a witty romantic poem in a particular scene.

The banter between the leads; like who is “more middle class” lands well and sets the tone for a film that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

The energy of Varun Dhawan and the charm of Janhvi Kapoor come through, while the supporting cast ensures the conflicts feel multi-dimensional.

Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Adar Poonawalla, and Shashank Khaitan, the film is a spiritual successor to the Badrinath Ki Dulhania film, featuring Alia Bhatt in the lead role opposite Varun Dhawan. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film is set to hit theatres on October 2 and carries forward the filmmaker’s signature masala blend of romance and humour.
