Mumbai: Vivek Agnihotri's controversial film 'The Bengal Files' was released on September 5. The film faced many big films like 'Baaghi 4' and 'The Conjuring' on the day of its release, due to which its earnings on the opening day were relatively low. However, the film's earnings have seen an increase on the second day, which is believed to be the result of word of mouth and Saturday holiday.

This film starring actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Darshan Kumar did not get many viewers initially.

However, there has been a good increase in the earnings of the film on the second day. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 1.18 crore till 6:05 pm alone, taking the total collection to Rs 2.93 crore. These figures are not final yet and may change. The film's better reviews and positive response from the audience have improved its second day performance.

Film's Budget And Director

'The Bengal Files' is directed by Vivek Agnihotri, who had earlier made a big hit movie like 'The Kashmir Files'. The film stars actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles. Vivek Agnihotri told Money Control in an interview that he prefers to work with good actors rather than stars, so he re-cast the same actors many times.

The film's budget is around Rs 30 crore, which is double the budget of 'The Kashmir Files' of Rs 15 crore. The film was described as politically divisive even before its release, due to which it gave rise to controversies.

Film Received Mixed Response

Although there was controversy and criticism about the film, the audience's response to its story and performance was mixed. The film's good earnings on the second day indicate that the audience is eager to know and see it. The film's earnings may increase further over time.
