Mumbai: After the release of Kalki 2898 AD and Adipurush, numerous memes were made about their VFX. However, the teaser of Namit Malhotra-Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan, starring Ranbir Kapoor, seemed to set a new standard. This teaser was not only praised for its technical quality but also increased the excitement among audiences for the film.

In this film, Ranbir Kapoor will play Ram, Sai Pallavi will play Sita, and Yash will play Ravana's younger brother, Vibhishana. Actor Vivek Oberoi has shared his opinion on the project. He said that the film will be on par with grand Hollywood films. He also revealed that he will donate his fee from this film to a noble cause.

Will donate the fees received for the film

Vivek told HT, "I told Namit Malhotra that I don't want a single penny for this film. I want to donate my entire fee for the treatment of children battling cancer. I believe Ramayan will prove to be a landmark film for our industry. It is India's answer to Hollywood's big films. Its story, its visuals, and the emotion behind it make it extremely special."

Ramayana is being described as the most expensive Indian film ever made. Producer Namit Malhotra himself revealed that the combined cost of both parts will reach approximately ₹4,000 crore.

Ramayana will rival Hollywood

Namit had said, "When we decided to make this film on a grand scale six or seven years ago, immediately after the pandemic, everyone thought I was crazy. Because no Indian film had even come close to such a huge cost. Simply put, the combined total of both parts will be a project worth approximately $500 million (over Rs 4,000 crore).

He further added, "I look at it this way: we're making the world's biggest film, based on the world's greatest story. And yet, it costs less than some major Hollywood films. So I believe we're making a big film at a low cost. As an Indian, I still feel we're being financially responsible and not wasting money."

The Ramayan film will be released in two parts. The first part will release on Diwali 2026 and the second part will release around the same time next year. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, while Sunny Deol plays Hanuman.
