Tamil Nadu: The possibility of a box office clash between Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and his son Jason Sanjay’s first directorial movie Sigma has become the most common conversation of cinema lovers. While Sigma was originally on the cards to release on 31st July, the makers are rumoured to be pushing the film to August to avoid a clash between the actor’s last film, as per the sources.
There is no knowledge from either of the production houses yet, but the speculation has already been out there, so no wonder that the fans just have to wait for the official announcement.
Media sources say that Sigma will not arrive on screen on 31st July, 2015, but the makers are said to be opting for an August release.
The main reason is the dominance of Vijay’s final film in theatres, on the cards for late July release. If his film comes out as scheduled, it will grab a huge number of screens in Tamil Nadu and overseas and there will not be enough seats for any other big Tamil film.
Therefore, the producers of the film are opting for a safer slot for its release.

The speculation has only been compounded as the production house of Sigma has remained quiet ever since it declared the July release date.
Apart from sharing dubbing news and confirming the earlier release plan, the makers have yet to kick-off a full-fledged promotional bonanza. The fans think that this strange silence is a hint that a new release date announcement is soon to follow.
With Jason Sanjay at the helm in his directorial debut, Sigma is a treasure-hunting heist entertainment laced with comedy. Sundeep Kishan anchors the film with co-stars Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Yog Japee, Sheela Rajkumar. The music is scored by S. Thaman
Adding to both the thrill and drama, Jana Nayagan has now been awarded an 'A' by Central Board of Film Certification, after makers complied with 12 suggested changes.
Producer KVN Productions confirmed the same and released a new poster, saying the film is coming to theatres soon. However, neither the makers nor a release date has been officially announced. Though, rumours are swirling that the film may release later this month.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film will star Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain and Gautham Vasudev Menon. Music by Anirudh Ravichander.
A father son box-off at the box office doesn’t look to be happening at present.
Jana Nayagan is expected to release first, but reports say Sigma will change the release date to August as it would be competing against Vijay’s last film. But, none of the makers has officially scheduled the release date for either of the films.
Until an official announcement is made, the reported postponement remains speculation, leaving fans waiting to see whether Tamil cinema will witness one of its most talked-about box office clashes or a strategic change in the release calendar.
