Hollywood: Famous Hollywood director Woody Allen recently shared his experience of working with Donald Trump during his 1998 film Celebrity in Bill Maher’s podcast ‘Club Random.’ He said that Trump was a good, decent, and professional actor. He followed all the instructions during the shooting and did not create any kind of trouble on the set.

Surprised by Trump’s entry into politics

Woody Allen also said that he was quite surprised to know that Trump entered politics. At that time he knew him as a businessman and celebrity who enjoyed relaxing things like basketball matches, beauty contests, and golf.

He said, “Politics is just full of headaches, decisions, and tensions. I could not understand why he got into it.”

Professional praise despite political differences

Woody Allen clarified that he is a Democrat and has voted for Kamala Harris. He disagreed with about 95% of Trump’s policies but said that as an actor Trump was good, comfortable, and confident in front of the camera.

He said, “I am the only person who can say that I have directed Trump.”

Expressed desire to direct again

In the podcast, Woody Allen also joked that if Trump is ready to work in a film now as president, he would like to direct him again. He said, “If he allows me to direct now as president, I can do wonders.”

Trump’s cameo in the film ‘Celebrity’

Trump had a small cameo in the 1998 film Celebrity, in which he played himself. In that scene, he gives an interview to a reporter and says that he wants to buy New York’s famous church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and build a magnificent building there.

Discussed personal life too

In the podcast, Allen also talked about his age. He is soon going to be 90 years old, and he said that he feels that his time will be over in the next few years. However, he also added that he feels healthy right now.

Woody Allen clarified that his praise of Trump is based only on professional experience, not political views. He considers Trump a skilled actor but does not agree with his policies. Still, he wishes to direct Trump in the future too—even if he is the president.
