New Delhi: Veteran actor and writer Piyush Mishra has voiced strong support for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, praising its storytelling while addressing the ongoing debate around whether the film carries propagandist undertones.
Speaking at the Delhi International Film Festival, Mishra described the Aditya Dhar directorial as “cinema in the true sense.” He emphasised that while the line between cinema and propaganda can sometimes blur, the film does not fall into that category.

“You can’t call it a propaganda film,” Mishra said, adding that he personally enjoyed the narrative and execution.
The actor particularly highlighted the film’s writing, noting its gripping and layered screenplay. He lauded the intensity of the storytelling, which he believes keeps audiences engaged throughout.
The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, alongside a notable ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R. Madhavan. Their performances, coupled with Dhar’s direction, have contributed to the film’s strong reception.
Since its release, the sequel has received appreciation from several prominent figures across the Indian film industry. Celebrities such as Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Karan Johar, and Alia Bhatt have publicly praised the film.
Released on March 19, 2026, with paid previews a day earlier, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as a major box office success. According to early trade estimates, the film has collected over ₹700 crore in India within just 10 days of its release, reflecting its widespread appeal.
On the professional front, Mishra was recently seen in the comedy-drama Rahu Ketu, directed by Vipul Vig. The film, featuring Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat, is currently streaming on Prime Video.
