Balochistan: Balochistan once again has witnessed a sharp escalation in violence after the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for killing 25 Pakistani Army personnel in two separate attacks. The separatist group also released a dramatic video showing explosions, gunfire and burning military vehicles, which it claimed was footage from the operations.
According to BLA claims, its Fateh Squad carried out an ambush on a Pakistani military convoy near Ziarat Cross, killing 18 soldiers and injuring several others. The group alleged that two army vehicles were destroyed during the attack.
Bodies of Army personnel who lost their lives in Balochistan are being sent to their families.
But Not a single report on these deaths has appeared on Pakistan’s official channels.

Following the attack, BLA’s media wing released a video featuring armed fighters, damaged military vehicles and scenes of explosions. The footage quickly spread on social media, drawing attention to the growing insurgency in Pakistan’s largest province.
However, the casualty figures and authenticity of the video could not be independently verified.
In response to the attacks, Pakistani security forces carried out large-scale operations across Balochistan. The military claimed that nearly 48 militants were killed during raids conducted in areas including Mastung, Sibi, Quetta and Kalat.

Pakistan’s military said the operations targeted members of banned groups, including the BLA and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Balochistan has been facing a long-running insurgency, with separatist groups accusing Pakistan’s government of political marginalisation and rights violations. The BLA and other armed groups have repeatedly targeted security forces and infrastructure, demanding greater autonomy or independence.
The latest clashes have intensified concerns over security in the region, with both sides reporting heavy casualties amid continuing violence.
