India suspends visa services in Dhaka
New Delhi: In view of the prevailing security situation in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, India temporarily closed its Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) on Wednesday. The center is located in Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka and is considered the main, integrated center for all Indian visa services in the capital.
Center closed after 2 PM on Wednesday
IVAC said in a statement that the center was closed after 2 PM on Wednesday, keeping the security situation in mind. The center also clarified that those who had appointments to submit their applications today would have their dates rescheduled.

The envoy was also apprised of India's strong concerns regarding the deteriorating security situation in Bangladesh. This step comes at a time when sensitivities regarding regional security and the safety of diplomatic institutions have increased. India has clearly indicated that the security of its citizens and missions is its top priority.
