Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker arrives in India (Internet)
New Delhi: Christian Stocker arrived in India on Wednesday for his inaugural four-day official visit, aimed at deepening cooperation between Austria and India in trade, investment, and emerging technologies.
This is also his first official trip to Asia since taking office in 2025.
During the four-day visit, the Austrian Chancellor is scheduled to hold extensive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The talks are expected to focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, green energy, advanced manufacturing, digital innovation, and other strategic sectors.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors and deepening diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

The Chancellor arrived in New Delhi late on the night of April 14 at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
On April 15, he is scheduled to meet S Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, at the historic The Imperial, where discussions are expected to focus on enhancing strategic and economic cooperation.
A key day of the visit will be April 16, beginning with a ceremonial wreath-laying at Rajghat, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. This will be followed by high-level talks with Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House. Both sides are expected to witness the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and address the media thereafter.
Later in the evening, Chancellor Stocker will call on Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The visit will also include engagements in Delhi on April 17, before the Chancellor departs in the early hours of April 18.
