New Delhi: Security arrangements across the national capital have been beefed up ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, with more than 450 CCTV cameras installed across important routes to monitor the movement of VVIP dignitaries.
The extensive surveillance network has been activated as Delhi prepares to host top global leaders. Police teams are maintaining continuous monitoring of key routes through a dedicated CCTV control system to prevent any security threat during the summit.
The CCTV monitoring system is being operated from the control room at Tughlaq Road Police Station, where personnel are keeping a close watch on live camera feeds from several locations. The cameras have been positioned along routes expected to be used by VVIP convoys during the summit. Officials are monitoring vehicle movement, suspicious activities and unusual objects in real time to ensure immediate response whenever required.
Police personnel monitoring the CCTV feeds can immediately alert the central control room and coordinate with teams deployed on the ground if any suspicious activity is detected. Constable Hukum Singh said the entire route has been covered through CCTV surveillance, allowing authorities to identify potential threats quickly. He added that the system enables police teams to monitor situations within seconds and take necessary action.
The national capital has been placed under a heightened security arrangement ahead of the BRICS Summit. Apart from CCTV surveillance, multiple security layers involving ground deployment, route monitoring and intelligence coordination have been put in place to ensure the safe movement of international leaders.
The security network is expected to assist police teams in managing traffic movement, tracking unusual activities and responding quickly to emergencies.
With several foreign leaders expected to attend the summit, security agencies are focusing on preventing any possible disruption. The extensive CCTV network will serve as an important tool for real-time surveillance throughout the event, helping authorities maintain a secure environment across key areas of Delhi.
