Cholera spreads in Birgunj of Nepal
Kathmandu: Cholera has spread in Birgunj district of Nepal. Since last week, many cases of cholera have been reported in the district and the situation is so bad that three people have died of cholera and more than 300 people are admitted to hospitals. Birgunj district of Nepal is a border area and has been in the grip of drought for a long time. Drought is also believed to be the reason for the spread of cholera.
Diseases spread in Nepal during monsoon season
Dr. Uday Narayan Singh of Narayani Hospital in Birgunj district said that the number of cholera patients has increased rapidly since last Friday. People have been admitted to the hospital after complaining of diarrhea. Many patients have been found to be infected with cholera during examination.
Cholera is the cause of cholera. Many wards in Narayani Hospital itself are filled with cholera patients. Water and food-borne diseases spread a lot in Nepal during the monsoon season. Cholera is also prominent among them. Every year thousands of people fall prey to this disease. The World Health Organization also considers cholera a global crisis.
Cholera can cause death
Cholera is an infectious disease, which causes vomiting and diarrhea in infected patients, which causes dehydration in the patient's body and if the patient does not get immediate treatment, the patient can die within a few hours. Health experts say that before the cholera spread in Birgunj, similar conditions prevailed in Nepal's Jajarkot district in 2009. Many people died of cholera in Jajarkot too.
