New Delhi: Various countries in Southeast Asia, especially Hong Kong and Singapore, are once again witnessing a rapid increase in corona infection cases, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

According to recent reports, it has been found that in the last few weeks, there has been a surge in cases of Covid-19 in these areas. Which has increased the concerns of health experts. It is being told that not only has there been an increase in the cases of infection, but the number of patients admitted to hospitals is also increasing continuously.

Experts believe that this time the increase in infection is not due to any new variant. Instead, the lack of immunity created by the vaccine over time is being attributed. Due to the decline in the effectiveness of the vaccine, the effect of the virus is once again emerging.

Booster Dose

Health experts have advised high-risk people in affected areas to take a booster vaccine as a precaution. This will develop additional protection in the body. Earlier also, many health organizations had recommended people over the age of 65 to take an annual dose of the Kovid vaccine, just like the flu.

Danger In Hong Kong And Singapore

According to a Bloomberg report, along with a rapid increase in Kovid cases in Hong Kong and Singapore, there has been an increase in the number of hospitalizations and deaths. According to experts, this increase is the biggest in the last one year. The local administration has also advised people to wear masks and avoid crowds.

FDA Approves Nuvaxovid

Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Novavax's new vaccine 'Nuvaxovid' to deal with corona infection. However, some conditions have been set for its use. This vaccine is approved only for people aged 65 years and above, and those aged 12 to 64 years who have a serious health problem (comorbidity).

Experts believe that this new wave of infection can be controlled with booster doses and new vaccines. Along with this, it is also necessary to strictly follow the protocol of Kovid-19 in the affected areas, so that the spread of infection can be stopped.
