PM Imran Khan Meets Wife Bushra Bibi (Img: X)
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan met his wife Bushra Bibi and sister inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after a gap of nearly nine months. The meeting took place following a Supreme Court order allowing weekly family interactions for the jailed leader.
Imran Khan has been lodged in Adiala Jail since 2023 and is currently serving a 14-year sentence in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. He is also facing multiple other legal cases.
According to reports, Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi met him for the first time in 2026. The meeting lasted around 15 minutes and was held in the jail’s conference room.
During the meeting, Noreen reportedly discussed Khan’s health condition and other matters. She also informed him about the Supreme Court’s direction to shift him to Shifa International Hospital for medical examination.
However, other members of Khan’s family, including his sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, were reportedly not allowed to meet him. Leaders from his political party were also barred from joining the meeting.
Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, who is also imprisoned at Adiala Jail, separately met him on Tuesday.
According to jail sources, the meeting between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi lasted around 30 to 35 minutes. Bushra Bibi also met her children Musa and Mubashara Maneka, along with her sister-in-law Mehrunnisa.
The meetings were held after the Supreme Court raised concerns over Khan’s health and directed authorities to ensure regular family access.
The Supreme Court, while allowing weekly meetings, reportedly warned that the facility should not be used for political activities. The court said the relief could be withdrawn if the meetings were used for political gains.
The development comes amid continued legal battles involving Imran Khan and his party. The former premier has repeatedly denied allegations against him and termed the cases politically motivated.
Earlier, the Supreme Court directed authorities to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment and keep him there until September 16, when the court is scheduled to hear further petitions related to his healthcare.
The latest meeting marks the first major family interaction for Imran Khan in months and comes at a time when pressure continues to mount over his legal situation and health conditions.
